Our Story
We started roasting at home, 20 years ago using an electric Swiss Mar Alpenrost, a cool little sample Roaster good for about 250 gms a time.
After a while, it became apparent that we were getting quite good at it and because we enjoyed doing it so much it was a no-brainer to step up a gear.
After an intensive roasting course in Melbourne with Anne Cooper of Equilibrium Master Roasters, it opened up the whole coffee world encompassing every facet including sourcing, grading…etc. and most importantly, Roasting…
Automated coffee roasters might be faster, but they can’t match the precision and control of our roasters. That’s what allows us to create such amazing blends and single-origin coffees. We never cut corners when it comes to quality, and our roasters reflect that commitment.
At SUP, we like to produce a good strength coffee extracting some higher fruity notes layered over a chocolaty undertone with good acidity and balance.
We roast 4 bean types, rotating one out periodically to showcase a different variety of Single Origin Coffee. These can then be blended like a good whiskey or left to stand alone… Either way, it’s exciting…
